Partior and LSEG DiSH Test 24/7 Bank Settlement
The firms target production and further bank onboarding from Q1 2027, using trust accounts to connect cross-border payment liquidity.
Key Takeaways
- Partior and LSEG DiSH are testing a connection for round-the-clock settlement liquidity across banks.
- Production and onboarding of additional settlement banks are targeted from the first quarter of 2027.
Details
Blockchain-based clearing network Partior and LSEG Digital Settlement House announced on September 17, 2026, that they are developing a multi-bank settlement solution for cross-border payments. Industry testing is underway, with production and further bank onboarding planned from Q1 2027, according to LSEG's announcement.
The design connects DiSH's omnibus trust accounts with Partior's multi-currency clearing network. The firms aim to let participating banks move settlement liquidity outside normal payment cut-off times while reducing the need to pre-fund accounts with individual counterparties.
Round-the-clock availability would remain subject to maintenance and operational downtime.
Market Analysis
The initiative builds on the commercial-bank-money model LSEG described when it introduced DiSH on January 15. In that model, cash remains in commercial bank accounts while ownership is recorded on the DiSH ledger. Its earlier proof of concept used tokenized deposits on Canton Network for the cash side of asset transactions.
The new work focuses on connecting that settlement model to Partior's payments network. For banks, the practical goal is to make liquidity available across counterparties throughout the day, with fewer separate accounts to fund in advance.
